Our house needed some repair work so this past week our son-in-law Greg set up his workshop in our back yard and put the new sheeting under the edge of the roof.

Luckily you have a handy son-in-law who comes in any time to do immediate repairs. I hope your roof is still okay, Grammaneir. To avoid more repairs in the future, perhaps you could ask him, or a capable professional, to go up your roof at least once a month to do a maintenance check to see if there are moss and missing or chipped shingles that could cause leaks.
