Our firstborn daughter is 40 years old today. Julie is a beautiful daughter and has always been a joy to us. She has a very special family and pictured with her is her husband that takes such good care of her. We thank God for her and trust for a wonderful birthday. We love you Julie. MY BROTHER HAS ANOTHER BIRTHDAY

Today is my brother's 67th birthday. I tried to tell him he was getting old but he reminded me that I am not very far behind him. Jim has been a wonderful brother and I love him very much. I hope you have had a great birthday Jim and I pray God will give you a wonderful year ahead.

MERYN IS SIX YEARS OLD

Above is Meryn when she was just a one year old and the big brothers were very protective of her. She is a doll(of course I think that of all of my granddaughters)!


Today Meryn is 6 years old and has started school. Meryn is always busy and loves to help with whatever you are doing. I am amazed at how good she can clean and organize things already(but she has been her Mommy's little helper all alone while the boys are in school so she has had plenty of time to watch and learn).
Meryn, you are our sweetie and we love you very much. Hope you have a very fun Birthday.

We count ourselves very blest for God to give us Roger as our firstborn son 41 years ago. He has been a joy to us his parents and a wonderful role model for his siblings. We love you Roger!

Today is Rog's 67th birthday. We spent the evening yesterday going out to eat and shopping in Wichita and then today we went with Mom out to eat for a free birthday lunch. Rog is a wonderful Dad, grandpa, husband and friend and I just thank God for the years He has given us and pray we will have many more. Hope you had a wonderful birthday honey and I love you very much.

A SPECIAL FISHING TRIP

They(a group of 9 - most of them have gone for the last 9 years) flew from KC last Friday morning to Minneapolis, MN and then from MN to Winnipeg.

Arriving in Winnipeg -the van is waiting to take the men to a lake where a float plane was waiting to take them to their final destination, Aikens Lake in Manitoba.

The guys had a fun time but when Rog left home last Thursday, I knew I would probably not be able to talk to him until he arrived back in MN. That sounds ok but the week was very long and there was no communication. I did have June and her kids with me from Monday until today when Rog came back so that helped but I was definitely ready for my hubby to return.

IT'S SUSAN'S BIRTHDAY

Today is Susan's 33rd birthday. The second oldest of our 3 "little ones" is almost ready to send her children back to school. Susan keeps busy with 2 jobs, a beautiful family and enjoying Greg's family right now. Her baby, Meryn, pictured with her will begin kindergarten this year so Susan will be lost with no kids at home. You have become a beautiful young woman and wonderful Mom & wife and we are so thankful for you and love you very much. Hope you have a wonderful day.

IT'S ELISA'S BIRTHDAY

Today the oldest of our 3 little ones, our little angel, turns 35 years old. Do you remember how Daddy always wondered if you were an angel Elisa? Elisa ran a half marathon this past year and that is the picture above. We love you Elisa and are so grateful for you.

Yes, it is Melanie's birthday today and she is only 28 years old. Melanie is a very devoted and loving wife, mommy, and a very special daughter-in-law. We love you Melanie and hope you have had a wonderful birthday.

CAMPING AT CLINTON LAKE

We are all packed to go camping and I think we have everything but the kitchen sink loaded into our truck. Damon & June's family, Greg & Susan's family, Phil & Julie's family, and Don & Roberta will be there with us.(this included 14 children and the cousins had a lot of fun)

it was very cold the first night and thunderstorms the next night so it was not dull

we had a great time but we were very tired when we got home last night
we love being with our family and look forward to the next time

BIRTHDAY TIME FOR PHIL & MEREDITH

Today is Meredith's 5th birthday. She is excited about that because she is going camping and will get to be with some of her cousins to celebrate(as well as grandpa & gramma of course:) Meredith is such a sweetie pie and loves to help with anything and is always busy about something. We love you Meredith and hope you have a very fun birthday.

Our theme was OBEDIENCE

This is our group after the T-Shirts were handed out - we just finished our first orientation meeting and they are ready to swim and have fun outdoors.

We are so glad we have a huge back yard but it was very HOT the first night and the second night was a little better but the third night was nice. We had fans in the tents. The real help is to let them go swimming just before bedtime.

Wednesday afternoon we went to take a hike on the walk over bridge at 30th & 61 highway - they love getting semis and cars to honk at them

at this end of the bridge there is the train track where the train would be too close if one came

Grandpa & I took that opportunity to say something special about each grandchild and let them know that we love them and are praying for them

Thank you girls! We could never do it without you.
They constantly clean, help serve the food, lifeguard, taxi service, and much more but they did enjoy hanging out in the air-conditioned house at night when the kids were down for the night in the hot tents:)
