OUR OLDEST GRANDCHILD

Today Taylor is celebrating his 17th birthday. He had all of our attention for a few years before the flood of grandchildren came. His smile is contagious and he has his two brothers looking up to him with pride. I see him always trying to be helpful. We love you Taylor and are praying for you as you soon will be facing many decisions for your future. We pray you will have a good birthday even though I just talked with you and you will be working at jobs all day.

We were married 42 years ago and the weather was very much the same as it is today. It was misting this morning and is cool, cloudy, and breezy now.
Below you see the old(over 100 yrs. old) hotel, The Cottage House, in Council Grove where we are staying.

This has been a very special get-a-way for us reminiscing over the years and praying about the days to come.

DAWSON CELEBRATES # 9

Today is Dawson's birthday and he is 9 years old. He is growing up to be such a nice young man. He is pictured with his new Bible he received for his birthday and he said he needed one so was very excited. We love you Dawson and hope you had a good birthday.

MY DAD WENT TO HEAVEN TONIGHT

"Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints."

My Daddy went to be with his Lord and Savior at 11:10 p.m. on May 14. He loved to sing praises to the Lord he loved and this morning he is singing in heaven and there is much rejoicing. We will miss him here but we are so glad that he is well and with his Savior and with his family who have gone on before him. Thanks to all who prayed for him but continue to pray for Mom. We are so thankful that she is with us.

OUR LITTLE CUTIE TWO YEAR OLD

Today is Brooklyn's 2nd birthday and isn't she a sweetie! Brooklyn is beginning to talk more and more and loves to eat, play and have lots of fun. She is such a lovable little sweet heart and we are looking forward to having her at our home for several days this weekend. We love you Brooklyn and hope you have a fun filled birthday.

JOHNNY IS THIRTY-FIVE TODAY

Today our son-in-law, Johnny Seaba, turns 35 years old. He is always the life of the party and is a great Dad & husband. We love you Johnny and hope you have had a wonderful birthday.

NEW FRONT DOOR

Yes, this is something that we have needed for quite some time too and we are enjoying the new look at our front door. The screen door has a top window that slides down and the top half of the door is then screen for better air circulation. It is so much fun to have new things that make everything look better.

NEW BEDROOM SET

Rog went to KC last week to help John & Melanie with a roofing project. As it turned out, they were able to get it done with someone who had a crew to put the new shingles on so what rejoicing for Rog and John. So Rog decided to help him with organizing things in the garage and helping around the yard. While organizing in the garage, there was a dresser and bed set that John had been storing and needed to do something with and we let him know we could use it. Oh what a blessing - we have been looking for quite some time but just couldn't find what we wanted. We found it and love it! Thanks again John & Melanie:)

OVERNIGHT VISIT WITH THE VEERS

We had a fun time Friday afternoon until Saturday morning when Phil & Julie and the kids came to stay before going on to a niece's wedding on Saturday. The kids were all dressed up to attend the wedding so I snapped a few pictures. When I told them to smile, Brooklyn tried hard to make it a good smile - they are precious grandkids. Owen is quite the good looking young man as well. We love you all!

THE BIG SNOW STORM

We had the biggest snow storm since 1970 that started Friday at noon and ended on Saturday at noon. We had 18 inches when we awoke on Saturday morning and it was still snowing so I would say we had about 19-20 inches in all. It was definitely a winter wonderland scene and there was no traffic around our street. Above you can see the front of our house and below shows the front of our neighbors house. By afternoon the sun came out and it was beginning to melt so hopefully today it will melt some more.
