VALENTINE WEEKEND

I think I know where Julie gets her struggle with keeping up with the blog. I'm just as bad so I'm trying to play catch up with a few posts.

We went to Kansas City for the weekend just before Valentines Day and were able to spend time with most of our grandchildren(except for Taylor who was working) and children in the KC area.

We went to eat with all our children and grandchildren at one time or another but it is obvious that I only had my camera along a couple of times.

The picture below is taken when we went to eat Sunday lunch with our two sons and their families to a Mexican restaurant. We always love being with our family and what better weekend to be with the ones you love.

CHRISTMAS CAROLING FOR MOM BY BEREAN FAMILY

Mom was blessed when our church came and caroled for her. There were lots of young people so we had a nice group. Mom expressed that she felt honored that they would come to sing for her.

GRANDPARENT DAY IN BLUE SPRINGS

We had a great time visiting Dawson and Cooper at their school, Plaza Heights, in the fall when they showed us around their classrooms and had a program for us as well. It was grandparents day and the boys made us feel really special and we were very proud of our grandsons.

MAGGIE TURNS TWELVE TODAY

Maggie is celebrating birthday # 12 today. Maggie is a beautiful young lady and loves the Lord and is a wonderful model for her 4 year old sister. She is the second oldest of our 11 granddaughters that range from 5 mo. to 16 yrs.

I love opportunities to get together with my grandchildren and have enjoyed special times with Maggie.

Maggie keeps busy with homeschool and helping her Mommy, studies for Bible quizzes and does really well in quizzing and enjoys lots of time with her family.

BRITTANY IS SWEET SIXTEEN

Today, our oldest granddaughter Brittany is celebrating her sixteenth birthday. I know she is having a good day because she and her family are in Florida enjoying warmer weather than here in Kansas right now.

Brittany is a very good student with special interest in culinary arts. She has had some experience in preparing special meals for people with great success. She is very creative and keeps busy all the time.

This summer she will be going on a mission trip to minister to orphans in Uganda. We love you Brittany and hope you have a wonderful birthday.

AVERY IS TEN TODAY

Our granddaughter, Avery Seaba, is 10 years old today. She is a very sweet girl and is very creative. She loves to read and is helpful with her little sister, Reagan. She also displays leadership qualities when with her cousins. We love you Avery and trust you have a wonderful birthday.

DON IS 77 TODAY

Don Graber has his 77th birthday today. We see Don as a gentle giant and are grateful that God saw fit to bring him into our family when he married Roberta. He is a blessing and always ready to help wherever needed. We are so grateful that God has spared him in his recent trials. We are grateful for your life and testimony, Don.

TREY CELEBRATES NO. 12

Trey is celebrating his 12th birthday today. Time goes by so quickly. Trey is #5 of our 24 grandchildren and sets a good example for many of the younger ones. He is a busy boy with middle school this year. He likes to run and is very creative in all he does. He is the oldest in his family with 3 younger siblings. He has a fun time in whatever he does and especially loves to spend time with cousins whenever he has the opportunity. He has a cat that he enjoys as well. We hope you have a wonderful birthday Trey and we love you very much.

OWEN IS IN DOUBLE DIGITS

Owen is 10 years old today. He is an avid sports fan and does well playing soccer and baseball. Owen asks a lot of questions and therefore learns a lot. He is a joy to have around and we love him. We hope you have a wonderful birthday Owen.

ROBERTA CELEBRATES # 67

Today Roberta is celebrating her 67th birthday. Because of all the holiday activities, I was negligent in getting this post on. But I decided, better late than never. Sorry Roberta.

Roberta and Don have been serving the Lord at RGBI in Texas and have recently been faced with some major health trials. Therefore we have been blessed to have them in Hutchinson much longer than they had planned.

Roberta is a talented teacher and loves children and is pictured with our granddaughter Malia here. Our grandchildren enjoy Don & Roberta when they can be around.

We love you Roberta and pray that this next year will be a year of good health and healing for you and Don. Trust you had a great birthday.

SONDY CELEBRATES # 64

Today is Sondy's birthday. She turns 64 years old today. She is a great sister-in-law and keeps busy with work at the furniture store, substitutes in school as teacher, and is very active in church activities. She and Jim live in Strawberry Pt., IA and are having way too much snow right now. I told them they should share a little with us.

MY WEEKEND WITH MY DAUGHTERS

This past weekend Susan and I traveled up to Kansas City to spend the weekend in the Comfort Suites with Julie, June, and Elisa. We looked forward to this for quite some time and their husbands are so good to let them get away for that time.

We love to talk and catch up on everything that has been going on with each other and then we get to do a lot of shopping. That has never been something I particularly enjoy but I enjoy being with them so that made it more fun. We started off by going to Target to get some snacks for the room. We also enjoy eating at the Olive Garden where we have to keep asking for the next bowl of salad because one bowl was not big enough for 5 of us.(this year we only went through 3 and last time it was 5 so we are doing better:) We also enjoyed the Texas roadhouse and then one evening went out late for chips and salsa which we are pretty good at inhaling as well.

It was a very cold day on Saturday and light blowing snow throughout the day. After shopping most of the day, we went back to the hotel and the girls decided they would go to the hot tub. I didn't think that would do anything for all the eating we were doing so I decided to go exercise and ran on the treadmill.

Later that night when we came out of the restaurant after having chips and salsa, it was blizzard like conditions and snow was starting to accumulate. Sunday noon came entirely too quickly when we needed to part ways and head back to our homes. Julie's car was dead when we went to leave to she and Elisa did a super & quick job of jumping it after some instructions from Phil. I wanted to get a picture because they looked like pros doing it but it was just to cold and they were to quick so we didn't get the camera out soon enough.

We had a great time and God gave Rog & I four wonderful daughters for which I am very thankful. Thank you girls for the time you shared with me and I want you to know how much I love each of you. You are wonderful wives and mommies.

MARY HAS ANOTHER BIRTHDAY

I (Roger) am posting for Mary on her birthday. She is pictured here with our youngest grandchild, Alivia. It is not difficult to see how much she loves her granddaughter. Mary is a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. I pray that our 24 grandchildren will know the joy of such a partner in their lives if God leads them to marry. She keeps life fun. She has been willing to follow the Lord's direction in my life. I know that today I speak for all our family and friends in praying you have a wonderful birthday, Mary. I love you. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

OUR YOUNGEST TURNS 31 TODAY

We were very pleased thirty-one years ago to finally get a brother for our oldest son. Roger was very excited(he wore the pin that said "It's a BOY" to school for 3 days) John has been a delight as a son and is a good father and husband. He works with his older brother and they are able to play sports together as well. We love you John and trust you have a wonderful birthday.

LIZ IS HAVING A BIRTHDAY

Today Liz is celebrating her 63rd birthday. Since her last birthday, Liz has changed jobs but is still in the billing dept. of a medical office. She enjoys her work and is busy on the weekends playing piano at church. We really appreciate her ministry in music at our church. It's nice that she can be here in Hutch to visit Mom all the time as well. We thank the Lord that He spared your life twenty years ago and pray that God will give you many more years. We love you!

OUR THIRD CHILD CELEBRATES

June has reached the notorious age of 39 for real. June is a loving daughter, a great homeschool Mom, and a devoted wife. COOPER CELEBRATES HIS BIRTHDAY # 7

Cooper is seven years old today. He is such a good helper. This last weekend we had a celebration for Great Grandma Tucker's birthday and Cooper was the one that kept straightening chairs, kept enough pieces of cake on the reception table and was always watching to help where he could.

He is in the first grade this year and enjoys school. He loved showing us around when we visited him on grandparents day at school.

We love you Cooper and hope you have a really fun birthday.

LONG OVERDUE PROJECT

This past weekend, two of our sons-in-law headed up a project that was long overdue. You remember that at "camp gramma" time we had an abundance of rain and when that happens, we have water standing in the backyard - therefore we could not have the tents for our grandchildren in the backyard. There is a pipe underground that drains water from our backyard and our neighbor's backyard out to the street in front of our house. It has not been working due to tree roots and dirt plugging it.

Phil & Julie and their children came to see us so that Phil & Greg could help Rog replace the pipe. They did a lot of digging and Owen, Brendon, Caleb, and Trevin helped some too.

There was some cement work to do around the drains so the twins left their mark.

Inside the house Brooklyn, Susan, Julie, and Gramma were making apple dumplings. Brooklyn was enjoying the flour by putting some on the board for me and twice as much on herself. Guess I didn't get a picture of Susan & Julie but they were a big help in getting the job done. We enjoyed the apple dumplings for lunch and even had some left over to freeze. We made 2 big batches and I still have quite a few apples left to make more desserts.

ANOTHER MILESTONE

Mom is celebrating her 90th birthday today. We are so thankful that she is able to be here with us. She tries to stay active by walking and getting out and about with us to church and other activities. We look forward to celebrating her birthday with a reception for friends and family on November 6, 2010, at Salina Bible Church from 2-4 p.m. Mom loves the Lord and His Word and we are blessed as a family and friends with her prayers. We love you Mom and trust you have a wonderful day.

When she got up this morning, there were beautiful roses on her table with a birthday wish from Bill.

Oh Hudson, you are growing up so fast. Today is your 3rd birthday and you are busy helping Mommy with little Alivia and following in Ella's footsteps to keep up with big sister and you talk so much. Today Dee Dee is celebrating #42 birthday. She keeps busy with family and entertaining, decorating, church activities and much more. She is the mother of our oldest grandchildren. MOM'S QUILT WORK AWARDED AT STATE FAIR

After all these years, Mom entered one of her quilted wall hangings at our Kansas State Fair. She had much encouragement from her friend Karen Staib to enter something. When Mom attended the fair with us on the opening Friday afternoon, she was shocked to see that she had a red ribbon on her entry. We were not suprised! Last night after church, Karen took her over to pick up her wall hanging and her prize.

ROGER CELEBRATES BIRTHDAY

Roger celebrates his 42nd birthday today. Forty-two years ago we couldn't have been happier at the birth of our first child. Your Dad loved to carry you everywhere even though you spit up on his suit coat at church(you certainly changed our lives).
