MAY 27 - CELEBRATING FORTY YEARS

The past weekend we celebrated 40 years of marriage. We went to KC for the weekend and enjoyed Crown Center and the Plaza. The picture of downtown KC below is taken from our hotel window.

The picture below is taken at the Plaza in front of one of the main fountains.

Below is our newest granddaughter, Brooklyn Olivia. She is already a month old and yesterday when we got home from KC, we finally got to see Brooklyn. She is a sweetie. Grandpa Neir is enjoying her here.

WATER WATER EVERYWHERE

The first photo is taken from our front porch looking down our driveway.

As you can see, we have had lots of rain. This is looking down our street and I don't think we have seen it like this in the 27 years we have lived here. The car you see parked in front of Blick's old house has water up to the bumper. We have had over 5 inches of rain at our house today and some parts of Hutchinson have had over 8 inches of rain. There were lots of stranded motorists today with the streets all flooded. Rog is out now setting up a pump along side our house to keep the water from going into the basement windows if we get any more rain tonight.

You can see a car parked down in front of Blick's house southeast of us has water up to the bumper.

You can see that it is up over the curb and covers the sidewalk in front of our house.

Our back yard is a lake with water covering most of it.

If it rains much more, we may have water in our playhouse.

THE WEEKEND

On Saturday Brendon & Caleb had their first piano recital. They did a really good job and don't they look sharp.

Today, Grandpa & Grandma Tucker were able to go to church with us again. They both enjoy that so much and we are so thankful that they are able.

FLOWERS PLANTED

Today Rog cleaned up the front flower bed and planted geraniums and moss roses. Meryn was the sidewalk supervisor and loves to ask all kinds of questions. It was a beautiful day here.

BUSY DAY -- SPECIAL VISITORS

Our cousins, Sharyl and Tom, stopped by to visit us today on their way to Salina to check on some things on their farm. We had a really nice visit with them and had fun reminiscing about our younger days. It was good that Liz dropped by after she got off work because there were a few things in our reminiscing that we could not remember the details and Liz, being the youngest, was able to help jog our memories with some details. We are so glad they stopped and Mom & Dad thoroughly enjoyed the time as well.

On our trip to Salina the sunlight was too bright for Dad so we gave him a pair of sunglasses to wear. Rog said he looked pretty cool and all we needed was a motorcycle. We had a fun day in Salina. We took Dad to a dr.'s appointment first, then took Mom to the man that keeps her hearing aid tuned up, and then stopped by the manor where they used to live and said hello to Uncle H, Olive Peterson, Dorothy Favors, and Bertha Smith(who is in Dad's old room down in healthcare). All the workers were so happy to see the folks and said how good they looked.

Then we left to go have some lunch at our favorite Burger King. We left Burger King and decided to take a drive in the country and see how the wheat looked out where Dad has farmland. It looked much better than they had expected. We even got to visit with the man's son who farms the land for Dad so Dad enjoyed that time. Then we headed back to Hutchinson and were home about an hour before Tom & Sharyl arrived.

BAPTIZED

Several of our young people were baptized at church this evening. Three of our grandsons were included and we were encouraged with their testimonies and verses they shared. This is Caleb, Trevin, and Brendon Lanker.

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!

We were privileged today to have Mom & Dad go to church with us. They have not been able to go to church for over 2 years so they were happy to be able to go and it made a special Mother's Day for us. They even sat up on the second row just like the good ole days. We just praise the Lord for how well they are doing and that we can enjoy them in our home.

LAST NIGHT OF FUN WITH THE VEER SISTERS

We all had dinner together tonight and then the kids had one last evening to spend some time together before Susan takes Malia & Meredith home tomorrow. Trevin was helping them build some things with the K-Nex and they were having a great time.

Malia & Meryn have been inseparable buddies since Malia arrived on Sunday so they said their good-byes tonight.

Our neighbors have enjoyed watching all the activity in our driveway and especially the little parking lot that we have made by the neighbor's fence. The kids always have to have everything we own out front to ride.:)

The picture below shows all the K-Nex spread out everywhere. They build some pretty complicated things and when I take them all apart, my fingers hurt for days.

WE'RE ALL HAVING FUN

Great Grandma & Grandpa Tucker and Aunt Liz are enjoying little ones around as well. Meredith and Meryn are always wanting Great Grandma to read books to them and a couple of days ago they even caught Aunt Liz to read to them.

Great Grandpa is always talking to them and they will either give him a hug or the high five.

FIRST APRIL GRANDBABY

We were blessed yesterday, April 30, with another granddaughter, Brooklyn Olivia Veer. We think she reminds us of her Mommy when she was born and you can see that big brother Owen is very proud.

What a picture of peace!

Below is Brooklyn's two big sisters, Malia & Meredith, playing with their cousin, Meryn, at grandma's house.(Meredith is driving the blue van) I can't get away to help with this grandbaby so we brought the girls to Hutch to give Phil & Julie a little more freedom during this time. Susan will be taking them home on Thursday and staying several days to help Julie adjust to 4 children in her home.
